Directions:Â
Use a thin layer on affected areas. Use for 15-30 minutes a day at first, and increase wearing time gradually until medication can be tolerated all night. Slight irritation is normal, and temporary. If going outside, use sunscreen. Allow the Acne Gel to dry, then follow directions on the sunscreen labeling. If irritation or sensitivity develops discontinue use of product, and consult the clinic.
Benzoyl peroxide is not indicated for use around the eyes, nose, mouth, mucous membranes, and open skin as it may cause irritation
Percentage Recommendation:
Most people can start with the Acne Gel 5% but if you tend to be more sensitive, then we would suggest starting with the 2.8%.
Once skin has adjusted to Acne Gel 5% then it is recommended to start introducing Acne Gel 10%.
Acne Gel 2.8%: used as a starting point for overly sensitive skin
Acne Gel 5%: used as a starting point for most skin types
Acne Gel 10%: used for a stronger acne-clearing effect. Should not be used as a first step; meant to be used as a second step to Acne Gel 5%.
